The Masters without Azaleas?

Mar 13th 2017

The Masters may take place without the iconic azalea this year due to unseasonally warm temperatures and because they're already blooming (in early March)! The Masters are still weeks away and it is certainly disappointing, but it won’t be the first time the winner of the green jacket will be crowned without being surrounded by the colorful flowers. As recently as 2012, the flowers that line the 13th hole — named “Azalea”– were wilting by the time golfers got to the first tee. I always think of the beautiful color that associates the azaleas with the Masters, but it will still be an exciting golf tournament, even if mother nature has other ideas this year.
